Last night (Tuesday) was a historic night. How did I spend it? Cooking, of course! Rita and I decided to join forces and cook some election themed food in her Harlem apartment. Here we are, in bipartisan aprons (Pics courtesy of Rita):
Go USA! Yay Barack! Here's our spread:
We had "elitist arugula salad" with pears, blue cheese and walnuts -
meatballs, sauces and bread to make "uncle sammies" (sandwiches) -
twice baked potatoes (there's no theme there, I just had a lot of potatoes) -
and bipartisan berry cobbler (strawberry and blueberry, for that red and blue look).
We also had olives, cheese, brussel sprouts (those were really good), cookies and chocolate covered peanuts, beer and champagne for the big moment. It was a night to remember (and not just because of the food).

Are you the Republican in Red???
Just kidding. That sounds like a lot of fun! I love theme parties.
God Bless America! I had a wonderful salad with baby romaine lettuce, gorgonzola cheese, crisp green apple slices, and my standard olive oil/balsamic vinegar/garlic dressing. A night I will always remember, not just for the food, as you say.
This was a victory for all people past and present who laid the foundation that made this night possible!
good looking food...much more complicated than the pizza and salad us old folks ate in bkly...but then again none of us are currently free lancers...good results at the polls except in a few senate races and as to gay rights (sad). gonna be interesting to see what change actually looks like though the atmosphere is already electric...db
